See Spot Live Longer by Steve Brown & Beth Taylor

See Spot Live Longer from Steve Brown (formerly of Steve's Real Food) and Beth Taylor provides practical advice regarding how to help your dog lead a longer life and a better quality one too.  Backed by science, this book will provide you with information which will mostly be new to any reader regardless of what you are currently feeding.  Seriously!

See Spot Live Longer is written in common sense terms yet holds some very technical (and interesting) concepts.  After a series of short case studies, the book begins with a discussion of the natural ancestral diet of the dog and then proceeds to talk about what goes into commercial dog food and the impact commercial food has on our dogs' lives.  Of course the authors recommend feeding a natural ancestral diet (ie: a raw food diet for dogs), however See Spot Live Longer has very significant talk about how anyone can help their dogs through providing supplemental nutrition through whole foods even if you choose to continue feeding a commercial diet.  Translation: there's something in here for everyone.  And the book gives very specific recommendations too!

Here's the deal: K9 Raw Diet strongly believes that whatever you choose to feed your dog, you should be acutely aware of what goes into the bowl.  We understand that as human beings we can only try to do our best.  But whatever you do choose to feed, you should absolutely feel good about what you're doing.  If you are feeding grains in your dog's diet, you need to read See Spot Live Longer.  If you decide to continue feeding grains after reading the book, you will at least be armed with some powerful knowledge to help you choose those foods wisely.  With practical tips and sound advice, you can certainly help your dog lead a much longer and healthier life.

See Spot Live Longer is not a "how to" book on raw feeding for dogs.  It does give some practical advice on feeding a raw diet, but the scope of the book involves the concept of taking a whole body approach which, of course, begins with what goes in the dog's bowl.  Regardless of whether you feed commercial, home cook, feed some raw foods or feed an entirely raw food diet, Steve Brown and Beth Taylor will help you help your dog.  ("Help me help you" - name the movie!)
