Made exclusively with yak milk, cow's milk, salt and lime juice and containing no artificial colours or preservatives, Himalayan Dog Chews are actually a type of very very hard cheese that only softens at the ends as the dog gnaws. How long it lasts depends on your dog's eating habits of course. Most dogs will simply gnaw on the chew for hours and we have many reports that these are lasting longer than a bully stick. But dogs with extreme powerhouse jaws such as the Chow or APBT can bite a large sized Chow in half (two for the price of one!) but thereafter will usually gnaw at the two pieces. So like most things, how long it lasts depends on your dog's eating habits. Rest assured, Himalayan Dog Chews digest well and the products undergo testing for both bacteria and the potential to grow bacteria.
